Goat’s Milk Does a Body Good

It’s time for me to, “GET YOUR GOAT!” Have you ever wondered where that saying came from? I did some research. There phrase actually has two meanings. The first comes from olden days when goats were placed in racehorse stalls the night before a big derby. See, goats were thought to calm the high-strung thoroughbreds. Unscrupulous opponents would then steal the goat in an effort to upset the horse and cause it to lose.

The second story derives from the French slang, “Prendre sa che‘vre,” or, “Take One’s source of milk or nourishment.” Why am I talking about goats, you ask? How much do you really know about the benefits of Goat Milk in bath, body and beauty products? Outside of the veritable Vitamin and Mineral cocktail that is goat’s milk, it also has a huge dose of natural glycolic acid. Part of the alphahydroxy acids (AHAs) family – water soluble, naturally derived exfoliating agents – glycolic acid is the smallest molecule of all the acids, so it deeply penetrates skin. Glycolic acid is the old standby for freshening the skin. It accelerates cell turnover and helps stimulate new collagen and elastin production. An excellent exfoliator, it lifts away the outer layer of dead skin cells to soften lines, wrinkles and scars…allowing for the growth of beautiful, new, healthy skin.
